Mama Sharon, Papa Ron & Grandma.... Thank you so much for the Valentine Card.

Morning conversation

There's no picture to go along with this one, but there are just some things that Morgan says that are just worth repeating. The other day we are sitting at breakfast. I am just starting my first cup of coffee and if you have ever had the pleasure of talking to me in the morning, I am not awake! So Morgan decided to jump right into a deep conversation. "So Mommy, just how did God make everything?" My very mature response, " I don't know." Which at another time I could probably come up with some answer a little more appropriate, but hey, it is only 7 am. So she gives me a look like, wow, you really disappointed me on that one. Thinks for a second, and says, "It's ok Mommy, I know. He did it all at church." Well, OK! Thanks for getting me out of that one Morgan!

So does anyone know the laws around child labor? Can we get away with calling it "chores" Morgan has now taken to doing the dishes. I can remember being that happy when I got to do them too, boy does that change with time!!!!

Warm Weather

So it's the first really warm day (65 degrees) Morgan & I set out to the toy store, Bubbles $5, New Sand Toys $5, Sidewalk Chalk $2.... Playing with our hands in the dirt... priceless.

Cara comes to town

We met some friends at Red Lobster when Morgan was a few weeks old. Well, actually, I stalked them, and Megan is just crazy enough to actually continue the relationship. So Morgan & their daughter Cara have been friends since birth. (they would get to see each other a lot more if someone hadn't moved away to Minn.!) We had a great time with them when they came to visit a few weeks ago. Although Cara didn't care much for Morgan's singing, she did like the dress up clothes.

New Years

So let's back up. I have not blogged in a while... We spend New Year's in Texas & watched Tech play in the Cotton Bowl. Stephen & I had a great time with friends at the game. And Morgan got to spend quality time with her grandparents. Here she just as happy as can be while Granny tries on the new hat she made her!

children's museum

After the hustle & bustle of Christmas we attemped to get back to a normal routine... and I didn't want to look at my messy house full of Christmas stuff I have to put away. We went to the Children's Museum. Morgan has perfected getting on a horse properly & is wanting to try out the real thing. I think her legs need to get a bit longer though. She also pretends that the tractor at the museum is her Papa's tractor down in Texas. She likes to ride with pretend Dusty. (we need friends:)

christmas morning

We had a wonderful Christmas, and I hope that everyone else did also. Santa was good to all of us this year. And on that note, my husband is making me write a retraction to everyone that I have ever told he is a very bad gift giver. In the past, he has proven himself to be one, but this year, he has broken the mold, in my eyes, of a caring & thoughtful person who truely knows me & what makes me happy. (There, are you happy Stephen!) There are no pictures of me because I got this camera for Christmas & was busy taking pictures.

Gymnastics

I guess if Morgan becomes a world famous gymnast then I am going to have to give credit to her Aunt Stacie & Uncle Lee. They gave her this for Christmas & she loves it! She even puts on the outfit & twirls the ribbon while walking the balance beam. It is the cutest thing. She looks at the poster & tries to do the moves like it tells her to. I have to find classes for her now! Thanks Stacie & Lee!

Cousin Nate

Cousin Nate came to visit us from Germany. Stephen's brother, Matt is stationed over there with the Army. Matt, Nate & Granny came to visit us for a few days. Morgan has never been so tired in her life! She had so much fun. It's kinda wierd that they just get that this is family & bond like they have spent their whole lives together.

Snow

Just for the record... it is Nov. 15th and it snowed today!!!!! Not real happy about that!!!

Hello Sarah

Yes, Morgan was a kitty for Halloween. But make no mistake, she wasn't just any kitty. Morgan was "Sarah" for Halloween. Which was quite funny, because it kind of freaked the real Sarah out a little bit. She had a blast that day. We trick or treated at Daddy's work & took brownies. Then we went to Grammy's house for a while. And then we went to the National Guard base with a couple of her friends and Trick or Treated inside one of the buildings. They had a train & bounce house. She had a great time & not too much candy.

Bamril

Bamril is what Morgan calls Emeril from the Food Network. If you have never seen it, he says, "Bam" a lot. So Morgan came up with her own name. It is a family ritual to watch him at night. I know, we aren't really that exciting of a family. Well, he had kid's week last week, with Elmo & everything. And he made pizza. So we got the stuff & Morgan actually made our dinner. You might think, "Oh, how cute," but really... we are just tired of doing it ourselves & want her to learn as quickly as possible. (just kidding.)

DADDY'S BIRTHDAY

Daddy's birthday was Oct. 12th & to celebrate we blew up black balloons, (Morgan truely insisted they were black,) hung signs, made paper flowers, and a very bad cake. (When I say bad, I mean awful. But not entirely my fault, I think the recipe was wrong... really, I do!) Anyway, Morgan decided to help Daddy blow out the candles. (You didn't think I took pictures of anyone but her, huh?)

Potato Painting Anyone?

Yes, if you come to the Osburn household, you will find all sorts of crazy things. Some we are not so proud of. Morgan & I were having a slow day & decided to spice things up a bit by looking in one of her books for an idea to do. What we came up with was Potato Paintings. Although it looks fun, trust me, trying to make shapes in a potato while a 3 year olds sits and says, "We have to be patient," is a bit rough. We did end up having a good time!

Baptism

Morgan has had the privilege of going to 2 baptisms in one month. When trying to explain what she was going to see, we simply stated that "they were going to pour some water on that baby's head." Now she likes to "baptize" all of her baby dolls in her play sink.

Dancing

Those dance lessons sure are paying off! Morgan loves to dance around her playroom like a princess. Someone forgot to tell her that even princesses get dizzy when they dance too much!

Jeep

Morgan got a Jeep for her Birthday! Sounds like fun, except for the fact that she won't drive it. She loves to be a passenger, though. Hopefully she will feel the same way at 16 and won't ask for a car.

Pictures

Have you ever tried taking posed pictures of a 3 year old? Near impossible! I am sure the other people at the gardens got a good laugh at me laying on the ground with my camera shouting, "Momo, look at Mommy & you will get a suprise." I think more memories came out of that day than pictures. Now I know why people take their children to professionals!
